There are several stages to a pathway.

An Undergraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of a series of stages (Stages 1-4) of study which on successful completion results in the award of a Bachelor's Degree. A Postgraduate Pathway is a single course which is comprised of a series of stages of study (Stages 1 - 2) which on successful completion results in the award of a Master's Degree.

International Diploma  Programme (IDP) - Stage 2 (International Year One)  - Designed for students who fail to meet the entry requirements for drirect entry, but who are still capable of studying at that level. Successful completion leads to the 2nd year of a UK bachelor degree programme. The course includes both academic subjects as well as English Language. Stages 3 and 4 comprise of the 2nd and 3rd year of an honours degree.

Masters Qualifying Programme (MQP) or Pre Masters -  is a 3 month, 6 month or 9 month programme for students who have a 1st degree, but whose degrees are not equivalent to a UK degree and who are lacking in English language proficiency. The additional learning is required in order to follow onto a master degree. The offer is made with a conditional of progression upon successful completion. Successful completion leads to the master degree which in the UK is normally 9 months.
